Mike Akox, known as "The Showman," is a Ghanaian-Australian Afrobeat artist born and raised in Accra, Ghana, who relocated to Australia and became the continent's first prominent figure in the genre after over 15 years in the music industry. Drawing inspiration from icons like Michael Jackson, James Brown, and Fela Kuti, he blends Afrobeat with afrobeats, alté, and hiplife, debuting with his EP Patience in 2021 and releasing hits like "Spectacular," "Merlot," "Florence" (co-signed by DJ Ebro), "Super Mario," and "TOMA SONG." Renowned for his electrifying performances at events such as the Black Music Alliance in Sydney, AFrikiko in Ghana, and BHIM FEST 2025, Akox has collaborated with Stonebwoy and earned acclaim from platforms like Triple J, Spotify, Apple Music, and Red Bull, amassing 11,541 monthly Spotify listeners across cities like Sydney, Lagos, and London. Beyond music, he founded Feed The Streets to support underprivileged youth, using his platform to promote love, unity, and hope through his energetic, spiritually-driven artistry.
